Welcome to ASL Programs

Sign Language Proficiency Interview

ASL Programs are designed to promote inclusivity in support of ASDB’s mission and vision of ASDB. These programs aim to participate in multiple learning activities to appreciate ASL as a language and Deaf culture as distinct. ASL Programs offer various opportunities for learning ASL skills, gaining Deaf culture awareness, and building relationships with staff, students, and families.

Sign Language Proficiency Interview

The ASL Program is responsible for coordinating SLPI interviews. Sign Language Proficiency Interview (SLPI) is a sign language assessment tool in a conversational approach to evaluate sign language skills. The SLPI assesses how well SLPI candidates can converse in sign language under ASDB’s language/communication policy.
