Adapted Dolch Words

The Dolch Words are commonly used words found in the majority of basal readers, first identified by Edward William Dolch, PhD, in 1948.  Children were to learn these words by the end of 3rd grade. Fairview adapted the Dolch Word lists to provide deaf children full access to these words, understanding that signing deaf children and non-signing hearing children do not learn the Dolch words the same way.
