1 in stock

Description

Finding Wheels gives visually impaired adolescents, young adults (and newly blind adults) strategies to cope with frustrations and the interpersonal challenges of nondriving. When other students are taking driver’s ed, students with visual impairments will need the alternatives this curriculum provides. Through four young adults’ firsthand stories and interviews of nondrivers, students are introduced to different approaches to independent travel. Teachers of students with visual disabilities, orientation and mobility instructors, parents, and rehabilitation personnel will enjoy working with Finding Wheels. Each of the 10 units includes objectives, a narrative portion, and activities for discussion, independent learning, and seeking information within the community.
