Learn By Doing

American Sign Language (ASL) is a rich, expressive, and complex language that employs signs made by moving the hands combined with facial expressions and postures of the body. It is the primary language of many deaf and hard of hearing people throughout the United States. Deaf Mentor Program offers ASL classes for parents of deaf and hard of hearing children from birth to 5. The class consists of a variety of topics focusing on ASL including fingerspelling, numerical, Alphabetic, non-manual markers, and conversational strategies.

In-person or Online

Communication and language acquisition is one of the most essential ways to foster a close, supportive relationship with your child, so these classes help parents learn and maintain their signing skills.

We offer ASL classes on our campuses for parents to learn and maintain their sign language skills. However, we understand the busy lives parents lead, so we now offer online classes through Facebook Live.
