7/8 Flag Football

Phoenix Day School for the Deaf 7-8 Flag Football Program plays Eight-Man Flag Football and is a member of the Catholic Youth Athletic Association (CYAA). The Flag Football Program competes in the West Region.

Ryan Ostler serves as the Head Coach of Middle School Flag Football at PDSD, bringing a wealth of experience to the team. Originally from Avon, Indiana, Ryan is a proud graduate of the Indiana School for the Deaf and Gallaudet University. In addition to coaching, he teaches math to 3rd and 4th graders. A fun fact about Ryan is that he has an impressive collection of over thirty LEGO sets! His passion for sports and education continues to inspire our bright, young athletes.

Jeff Ploederl is the Athletic Director at the Phoenix Day School for the Deaf. Originally from Manitowoc, Wisconsin, he graduated from Lincoln High School and later earned his degree from Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. Jeff is dedicated to supporting students through sports and promoting an active, inclusive environment for all. Jeff is actually a Deaflympic champion with a bronze medal in tennis and a gold medal in basketball!
