Communication

Direct Communication Environment
Direct communication and access are a critical part of education and language development.  Students who are blind or visually impaired at ASB interact directly with teachers, staff, and peers every day in the classroom, cafeteria, after-school program, and residential program.  Direct access to instruction and peer interaction leads to enhanced educational, social, and emotional development; and allows a greater degree of independence, self-confidence, and self-advocacy.
