Curriculum

Programs are specialized, student-centered, and focus on partnerships with families and the community to promote a foundation for lifelong learning and personal success.

This approach serves students who represent a wide range of cognitive and academic abilities. ASB provides students with a standards-based academic curriculum with teachers who are highly qualified in their subject areas. Instruction and programming are provided for students who are visually impaired as well as students who are blind or visually impaired with additional challenges. Students, whose needs cannot be met in the traditional academic setting, receive instruction in a Community-Based Instructional (CBI) program. The CBI model allows students to learn and practice daily practical skills in the environments where they are likely to be used.
