ASD Communication

Direct Communication Environment
Direct communication and access are a critical part of education and language development.  Students who are deaf or hard of hearing at ASD interact directly with teachers, staff, and peers every day in the classroom, cafeteria, after-school program, and residential program.  Direct access to instruction and peer interaction leads to enhanced educational, social, and emotional development; and allows a greater degree of independence, self-confidence, and self-advocacy.
