Victoria is an exemplary member of the ASDB community and the epitome of a team player.

She consistently goes above and beyond to support her colleagues, offering assistance and guidance whenever needed.

Her willingness to lend a helping hand and her genuine concern for the well-being of her team members create a sustainable and desirable work environment.

Some of Kristi’s special’s skills she brings to the agency are: Reliability, Dedication, Communication, Integrity, but her most special skill of all is Team Player.

She can get along with anyone and is well respected in our department. Kristi’s dedication as a School Bus Driver is like no other, her number one goal every time she gets behind the wheel is to make sure she gets students to and from school safely.

She always has a smile on her face and does everything she can to get to know her students and keep a good relationship with them. Kristi’s dedication to her job also extends to her fellow coworkers, she is caring and always helpful with others.

The first person to step up to help anybody in need. She thinks about everyone else before herself. Kristi is a perfect example of what a professional school bus driver is and also represents the agency as an outstanding staff member.

Aya has participated in the Deaf/Blind Training. This is a three year process and she receives praise from the trainers as well as Meghan Mogan our Deaf/Blind Trainer.

Aya’s student is graduating this year and with her professional support will be moving onto bigger and better things. Her knowledge, guidance and interaction with all HS students improves all their grades.

Aya is sad but excited to continue her work here at ASDB with her new student. She brings a smile to the faces of staff and students she interacts with.

If you have a chance I would suggest you say Hello and get to know her. She has a wealth of knowledge and is a great fellow staff member.

Megan is a valued member of the Blind Programs team who brings a dedication, focus and unparalleled passion for education for students with dual sensory impairments and complex needs.

Megan has specialized knowledge in communication and evidence based strategies that are integral in her work as a DeafBlind Specialist that impacts not only the students, but also the teachers, staff and families.

Megan has a gift for connecting with people everywhere she goes and sets the example for accessibility and inclusion for all.

Robin’s title as an Assessment Coordinator does not reflect all she does for the ASDB community.

Robin manages and ensures our standardized benchmark tests and state achievement test accommodations meet our students’ needs.

Robin also takes on multiple responsibilities as a mentor-protege coordinator, 301 checklists, and so many more!

ASDB (and the ODD team) is so fortunate to have someone like Robin who has served as a valuable team member of ASDB for 30+ years!

Daniel has gone above and beyond this year for the agency and region 3.

He travels weekly from Tucson to Yuma to help support the needs of students in that area of our region.

He has also acted as a courier between Tucson and Yuma all year.

He has done so without complaint and has had to drive a variety of vehicles back and forth throughout the year.

He has done this while still finishing his last year in graduate school and will graduate in May 2024.

Becky has been with the agency for many years. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role as both a teacher of the visually impaired and an orientation and mobility specialist. This school year she has also taken on the role as a supervising teacher for all TVI’s and O&M’s in region 1.

Becky lives in Yuma which is in region 3. She carried a TVI/O&M caseload for Yuma and region 1 which encompasses the whole western side of the state. She also supervised all TVI’s and O&M’s across northern Arizona, so her travel was immense.

She executed this role with tremendous grace and grit. Becky is an asset to our agency and all of the teachers that she supports.

Abbie has been instrumental in the improvement of our IEP processes and practices on the Phoenix campus. She comes to an IEP team with experience as a coordinator, parent, and teacher and her experience in these various roles contributes to her talent of being able to examine concerns and seek solutions from multiple perspectives.

She has been involved in every aspect of our recent ADE monitoring and has taken the lead in follow up with our 60 day items and action steps that require the development of formal IEP and MET agendas, IEP staff trainings, and an agency procedural guide. Her quick responses, collaboration, and willingness to take initiative in team accountability is an asset to our agency and greatly appreciated.

Stephanie has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to working with students who are visually impaired. She has a meaningful impact on her students as she can help them navigate the challenges that come with having a visual impairment.

Stephanie is a team player, helpful to others, kind, and is always willing to share resources with others.

Layce is so good at incorporating hands-on and using manipulatives into her lesson plans for her large group of Deaf+ students, especially DeafBlind. She can differentiate instruction for diverse and different levels of students. She also has strong collaboration with colleagues.

She fosters a positive, and inviting classroom environment.

She inspires students to love learning.

She has positive relationships with students and parents. She has great interpersonal skills and loves to listen and be there for everyone such as students, families, teachers, staff, and even administrators.

Cian received scholarships to the Berklee College of Music in Boston before graduating from the Arizona School for the Arts, followed up an ASU graduation, concentrating in jazz musical studies and drumming and audio production.

Cian has actively pursued best practices and techniques for audio descriptions of blind communities and assembled a comprehensive guide for best approaches to serving the blind community.

His hobbies include hiking, traveling, philosophy, and learning Arizona history and geography.

Sarah brings a wealth of Human Resources experience to ASDB as our Benefits Analyst. Sarah has over 17 years of experience in Human Resources. She joined our team in 2018 and has been a great asset to our staff ever since.

Sarah always is ready with a smile, greeting everyone like an old friend and treating their needs as such too. She helps ASDB team members to navigate Open Enrollment every year, FMLA, ADA, and Retirement. She also assists with the often difficult and confounding insurance carriers.

She displays reassurance that will get you through the best times and the tough ones too.

Brandon brings a vast amount of experience in education IT and IT in general. His work ethic, attention to detail, and punctuality are exemplary.

He makes sure that all students and teachers have up-to-date technology, and uninterrupted access to the internet, Google services, and any services related to IT.

Brandon has never been late to work even when he had an hour-and-a-half commute for a year and a half. He is a Tucson native and his wife also works for ASDB as a teacher at PDSD.

Danielle brings both knowledge and expertise in a manner that encourages students to do their best.

Her experience in behavior management allows her to create a calm classroom that helps her students learn both academics and the functional skills they need when they leave ASDB.

Danielle is also willing to serve the agency outside of her classroom, and is a member of the Tucson Campus PBIS team dedicated to bringing PBIS to our campus.

Megan Brings vast subject knowledge in ASL and Writing Composition, and use of classroom management strategies. She uses technology to enhance her teaching and engage the students in learning. She fosters student development of cognitive and social skills. She understands that early learning builds self-confidence in students and lays the groundwork for future achievement. She puts in countless hours to support her co-workers and enhance her lessons for student achievement.

Megan has worked for the Phoenix Day School for the Deaf as an Instructional Assistant, Behavioral Specialist, and Elementary Teacher. She is also a graduate of the Phoenix Day School for the Deaf.
